Product Review - Earth's Care Pain Relieving Ointment

Hello Heifers!

Every now and then (and by every now and then, I mean daily) my knees hurt. I've probably mentioned before (because, I am a whiner, y'all know that, though, right?) about my arthritiiiiiiiiiis in both knees.  It came on, according to 87 doctors (and y'all know me, I never exaggerate!), as the result of living most of my life as a morbidly obese person.....and....kind of like winter in Canada, it's here to stay for most of the year.  I ache, I hurt, I curse through most steps on my runs, knowing that my only way forward is through the discomfort (and I'd be remiss if I didn't mention my handy dandy Patella Tendon Strap, too).... anyway.... I continue to run despite the discomfort.  I will not stop running.

I was sent this product to try, from Earth's Care and I have to say, I was a bit skeptical, as I usually am.  I'm from Philly, which I like to tell people makes me an instant cynic, a sarcastic type who really needs to have something PROVEN to me before I will buy into the hype.  I raised an eyebrow and decided, what the heck, let me try it. I have the 'ritis, and they MAY have some relief.  Sooooooo.....

I busted open the package after a particularly long run (and by long I mean maybe 5 miles, not something like 29 miles, for my ultra-running bad-ass friends, because let's be real, NO).  I digress. I opened the package after my shower and figured, "what the heck! It can't hurt!" And I tried it.

On first pass, my only real thought was ERMAGAWD the smell. I smell like a nursing home. Like BenGay but 210,998% stronger.  On the flip side, my sinus issues? Gone in 3 milliseconds.  I'm not gonna lie. My husband and kids were making fun of me. The mailman may have just thrown our mail towards the front door and ran away, looking afraid.  My dog peed on me.  But whatevs.

Guess what?? This stuff is the bomb. It goes on smoothly, and despite the strong menthol/wintergreen/camphor smell,  this stuff ACTUALLY works.  It feels both icy AND hot at the same time, and it actually permeates deep into your joints.  It didn't wear off, either, for hours upon hours (and I only used a small amount, not like I slathered the whole jar on my knees at once)....

Here's the deal with this ointment (I've taken the liberty to copy and paste from the all-knowing internet).  This info was taken from a page where it's available for sale:

"Natural Camphor is found in the wood of the Camphor Laurel tree (Cinnamomum camphora), an evergreen species from Asia. Natural Menthol is a substance found in peppermint and other mint oils. Natural Wintergreen Oil is extracted from the leaves of wintergreen plants such as the Eastern Teaberry (Gaultheria procumbens). Earth's Care Pain Relieving Ointment is a powerful blend of three natural ingredients that provide soothing, penetrating relief from sore muscles, joint pain, backache and minor arthritis. Having now tried it several times - and now that I'm used to the calming aroma of my grandma's denture cream, I have to say, I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!!  I will use it until this jar is squeaky clean, and I will purchase some to continue to use.  It's THAT awesome.  For realsies.
