Oh, heifers! I'm so excited to report back and so proud of our friend and HE(ifer) Stu, who successfully finished his FOURTH (!) Boston Marathon yesterday.
With his permission, I'm copying and pasting from his facebook page his post and a few pics that were shared of him running the race.
I know we're all so proud of him - and we can't wait to see what's next. Disneyland, Stu??
"What can I say but thank you Colonial Road Runners for the opportunity to run the best marathon in the world in front of the greatest support system for 26.2 miles. Crowds were nothing less than amazing!
Would like to give a shout out to my wife Cindy Worobey Weiner and daughters Courtney Weiner and Rachel Weiner. You guys know what running means to me and how much this marathon has become a part of me. I couldn't have done it without you. The training was long , and hard and the early wakeup calls in the morning and long training runs on the weekend make juggling the schedule difficult.
All my friends and family who text, send me FB messages supporting me throughout this journey, your support is outstanding and means so much to me.
My day was not as I planned but I finished. It was incredibly hard for me running in the warm temps and running down beacon street was emotional and frustrating as I planned for a different day. Without the friends and family on the course, this one would have been hard to finish but I refused to quit and I willed myself to the Boylston Street for the best two turns in distance running for my fourth Boston Marathon medal. Thanks everyone for all your encouragement and support."
